Key Responsibilities

• Factory Costing and inventory AccountingCalculate accurate production cost for products (raw materials, labour, overheads)Monitor and account for raw materials (palm oil, caustic soda etc)Conduct daily stock reconciliation for raw materials and finished goodsPerform monthly stock taking and investigate any variance/losses/wastageDetermine standard costing and advise management on profitable pricing.Financial Accounting and reportingMaintain full set of books of accounts, ledgers, cash booksPrepare daily, weekly, monthly financial reports-profit and loss, cash flow expensesManage accounts payable(suppliers) and accounts receivable(distributors/customers)Prepare bank reconciliations and monitor factory petty cash  Budget and cost controlAssist in preparing annual factory budgets and production budgetsMonitor factory expenses and control operational costs to reduce wastageAnalyze production efficiency, yield and profitability per product.,Alert management on cost overruns and recommend cist saving measures.Tax and complianceEnsure compliance with URA and. statutory obligationsEnsure compliance with NSSF, LST and statutory obligationsPrepare internal and external Audits and liaise with Auditors.Ensure proper filling and documentation of all financial records. Payroll and operations supportProcess factory staff payroll, overtime, allowances and deductions accurately and on time.Support procurement by verifying invoices, LPOs and supplier payments.Work closely with operations manager and storekeeper to ensure accountability.

Education & Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce (Accounting Option) or Business Administration. Professional Qualification CPA or ACCA LEVEL 2 and above is must Completed CPA is an added advantage.

Additional Details

• Minimum 3-4 years’ experience as an Accountant in a manufacturing /factory setting.Hands on experience with costing and inventory accounting in a factory.Proficiency in accounting software-tally, quick books or sage and advanced MS EXCELKnowledge in URA EFRIS and tax compliance.Key Skills and competenciesStrong knowledge of manufacturing costing and stock management.High level of integrity, honesty and confidentialityExcellent analytical and numerical skillsAttention to detail and accuracy Ability to work under minimal supervision and meet deadlinesGood communication and team player.
