KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Supervise Loan Officers to ensure individual and branch-level performance targets are met.
• Assist the Branch Manager in chairing delinquency and loan committee meetings.
• Support the Branch Manager in setting individual targets for Loan Officers.
• Verify the authenticity and completeness of loan documentation.
• Conduct weekly branch staff meetings to address operational issues and policy updates.
• Facilitate audit, compliance, HR, and other required support sessions at the branch.
• Cross-sell Yako Bank services to clients.
• Handle employee grievances in line with Yako Bank’s Human Resource Policy and Procedures.
• Schedule work and leave for direct reports.
• Ensure accurate and valid documentation for account opening and system validation.
• Follow up on incomplete documentation and support internal and external audit processes.
• Contribute to efficient delivery of customer requests (e.g., cheque book issuance, cheque activation, ATM issuance, account statements).
• Maintain proper control of sales kits and stock (e.g., FD certificates, brochures) and request new stock as needed.
• Address complex customer issues with excellent customer service principles.
• Monitor significant daily account movements and report to the Branch Manager.
• Collaborate with front officers to collect pending fees (e.g., dormant fees) and optimize account structures.
• Foster a cooperative and productive work environment, promoting a “speak-up culture.”
• Assist the Branch Manager with additional operational tasks as assigned.
• Initiate staff performance appraisals, promotions, trainings, and transfers in line with HR policies.
• Build team capabilities to meet current and future business needs, considering individual skills and aspirations.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of direct reports.
• Plan and recommend staff leave in consultation with the Branch Manager.
• Manage cash and vault maintenance at the branch.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
• A Business degree in Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Management, or a related field.
• A certified banking qualification is an added advantage.
• Strong risk and controls management skills.
• Critical thinking, analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a banking or similar environment, with at least 1 year in an operations supervisory role.
• In-depth understanding of branch operational processes, product features, and pricing.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Ability to build effective working relationships across organizational and cultural boundaries.
• Commitment to demonstrating Yako Bank’s values and leadership behaviors.
• Impeccable integrity.
