Job title: Declarations officer
Reports to: Chief Operations Officer

Job Purpose
To coordinate all cargo declarations and transshipment activities for exports and imports through our
Transit Yard, ensuring compliance, efficient clearance and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and process customs declarations for exports, imports and transshipments.
• Manage transshipment accounts and documentation in compliance with customs and regulatory
requirements.
• Ensure accurate classification, valuation, and declaration of goods.
• Liaise with customs, port/airport authorities, shipping lines, forwarders and other stakeholders.

• Ensure timely clearance of cargo through our Transit Yard.
• Maintain accurate records and filing of all declarations and permits.
• Ensure adherence to QHSSE requirements while running operations.
• Advise clients on customs and transit procedures for smooth clearance.
Education and Experience
• A Diploma/Degree in Clearing and Forwarding, Logistics and Supply Chain or related field.
• At least 3 years of progressive working experience in a similar role.
• Proven experience in handling transshipment accounts for both exports and imports.
• Experience in working in a Transit Yard environment is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of customs procedures, HS classification, valuation and documentation.
• Proficiency in customs and MS Office.
• Excellent communication, analytical and problem–solving skills.
