QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

 

Education and Licenses:

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with minimum of class CM (Light Commercial Vehicle).
• Proven track driving record.

Experience:

• At least 5 years of professional driving experience.
• Experience working with Government, NGOs, UN agencies, or similar organizations is an advantage.

Skills and Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of local and regional road networks including Kampala Metropolitan Area.
• Basic mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions.
• High level of professionalism, reliability, and discretion.
• Training in defensive driving is an added advantage.

Key Deliverables

• Timely and safe transportation of staff and materials.
• Properly maintained vehicles with accurate logs and records.
• Compliance with all traffic, safety, and organizational policies.
• Accurate monthly fuel report submitted.
• Safety and security of vehicle ensured during field missions

 

 

HOW TO APPLY

 

• Duty station: Kampala
• Contract: national contract, 10 months (extension possible, dependent on funding)
• Travel: Frequent travel to the project sites
• Salary/benefits: grade 2 on NRC’s national salary scale.
