Reports To: Logistics Coordinator / Fleet Supervisor
Contract Type: Full‑Time, Permanent
Position Description Safely operate company heavy‑duty trucks on domestic and cross‑border routes, ensuring timely deliveries, proper care of vehicles, compliance with traffic and transport regulations, and accurate completion of all trip documentation.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate assigned 5-30 ton trucks on Uganda–Mombasa, boarder to border and Tilenga routes
- Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections and complete checklists
- Ensure all required trip documentation is carried and accurately completed (manifests, waybills, fuel records, logbooks)
- Adhere to assigned trip schedules and border crossing procedures
- Report delays, breakdowns, accidents, or incidents immediately to the Logistics Coordinator
- Maintain accurate driver logbooks (kilometres, fuel, departure/arrival times)
- Observe driver rest regulations and safe driving hours
- Maintain cleanliness and basic vehicle condition
Additional Responsibilities Support basic inspections and cooperate with maintenance teams as required.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
Required Certification / Training
- Valid Driving Licence – Class C Permit or above (mandatory)
- Defensive Driving Training / Certification (mandatory)
- Valid PSV Licence
- Valid Medical Fitness Certificate
Educational Qualifications (preferred) Category: Transport / Driver Pool
Minimum Education: Ability to read and write
Technical Training: Heavy goods vehicle operation (advantage)
Required Work Experience Industry: Road Freight / Transport
Role: Heavy Truck Driver
Years of Experience: Minimum 5 years driving heavy trucks
