Job Purpose
To maintain the stadium grounds, including lawns, gardens and landscaping, to ensure a clean, safe and visually
appealing environment for stadium users, sporting activities and events.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Cut grass, trim hedges and maintain flower beds and trees across the stadium grounds.
2. Plant and water grass, flowers and other vegetation as required to maintain healthy and attractive grounds.
3. Remove weeds, litter and debris from lawns, walkways and other outdoor spaces to maintain cleanliness and safety.
4. Prepare and maintain playing fields and outdoor sports areas in line with operational requirements.
5. Apply fertilizers and pesticides as directed to support healthy plant and turf growth.
6. Operate and maintain grounds maintenance equipment and tools safely and responsibly.
7. Report any damage, defects or hazards identified on the grounds to the Supervisor Grounds for timely action.
Minimum Academic Qualification
• Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or equivalent.
Required Experience
• Minimum one (1) year relevant working experience at a similar level in a reputable organisation.
Technical Knowledge and Practical Capability
• Knowledge of grounds and landscaping maintenance, including routine care of lawns, gardens and outdoor spaces.
• Ability to safely use ground maintenance tools and equipment required for mowing, trimming, planting and general
field maintenance.
• Basic knowledge of plant and turf care, including watering, fertilization and general vegetation maintenance.
• Knowledge of field and garden preparation techniques, including preparation and maintenance of playing fields and
landscaped areas.
Physical and Behavioural Requirements
• Physical stamina and strength to undertake outdoor grounds maintenance duties.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail when maintaining grounds, identifying hazards and caring for playing surfaces.
• Good time management to complete routine maintenance activities within required schedules.
• Integrity and accountability in the use of tools, equipment and assigned resources
