Kai Bar and Restaurant is an upcoming, high-end bar and restaurant located in Ntinda, Minister’s Village.

On behalf of Kai Bar & Restaurant, we are seeking a professional, welcoming, and customer-focused Hostess to join its team. This role is responsible for creating an exceptional first and last impression for guests by managing reservations, coordinating seating arrangements, and ensuring a seamless and memorable guest experience from arrival to departure.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a warm personality, strong organisational abilities, and the confidence to thrive in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

Welcome guests warmly and provide a professional, friendly, and memorable first impression.
Manage reservations and maintain accurate records of bookings, guest preferences, and special requests.
Coordinate table allocations and seating arrangements to maximise guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Ensure reserved tables are properly prepared and clearly designated before guest arrival.
Escort guests to their tables and ensure they are comfortably seated.
Provide menus promptly and facilitate a smooth handover to the service team.
Communicate reservation details, special occasions, VIP arrivals, and guest requests to relevant team members.
Maintain a thorough understanding of menu offerings, daily specials, promotions, and venue services.
Monitor guest flow, table availability, and waiting lists to ensure efficient service.
Respond professionally to guest inquiries regarding reservations, services, events, and facilities.
Engage with guests throughout their visit to ensure satisfaction and address concerns promptly.
Gather guest feedback and communicate compliments, concerns, or service issues to management.
Maintain a clean, organised, and professional hostess station at all times.
Support the service team in delivering exceptional customer experiences and maintaining high hospitality standards.
Adhere to company policies, service standards, health and safety requirements, and grooming expectations.

Requirements

Previous experience in hospitality, customer service, reception, front desk, or a similar guest-facing role is preferred.
Certificate, Diploma, or relevant qualification in Hospitality Management, Customer Service, or a related field is an added advantage.
Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong customer service orientation with a professional and welcoming demeanour.
Ability to multitask, remain organised, and perform effectively under pressure.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
Professional appearance, positive attitude, and high standards of personal presentation.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
Familiarity with reservation systems and hospitality operations is an added advantage.
Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
