Human Resource Manager – Uganda Plantations

Reporting to: Plantation General Managers

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

Manage the day-to-day Human Resource operations.

Ensure compliance with labour laws, company policies, and statutory requirements.

• Update and oversee the Implementationof all HR policies and proceduresin all plantations / locations (OPUL, OPBL, and OSBL), ensuring consistance and alignment with organizational objectives.
• Manage the recruitment, selection and orientation procedures
• Coordinate employee onboarding, induction, and probation processes
• Ensure proper maintenance and updating of all company personnel files and confidentiality of all records at all offices.
• Administer employment contracts, to ensure proper employee entry, retention and safe exit.
  Manage employee leave administration, attendance records using SUNPRO System.
• Manage employee relations, disciplinary processes, grievance handling, and union relations, including liaising with union representatives and supporting collective bargaining and dispute resolution where applicable.
• Advise management on HR policies, procedures, and employment matters.
• Lead and coordinate the annual performance appraisal process
• Manage expatriate immigration processesin liaison with government authorities, and agenciesto ensure timely approval of relevant visas, permits and passes.
• Administer employee master and maintain accurate information including leave records.
• Liaise with government authorities and external service providers on immigration and employment-related matters.
• Support employee engagement, wellbeing, and retention initiatives
• Recommend and implement improvements to HR processes and practices.
• Manage implementation of the performance appraisal system to ensure all employees receive a timely and correct evaluation
• Any other duties as shall be assigned from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources (mandatory)
• Post Graduate training in Human Resource Management (preferred)
• 8+ years proven progressive leadership employmentexperience in Human Resourcemanagement role, preferably with a large plantation company.
• Competency in HR
