Quality Plastics (U) Ltd is hiring (2) self-driven and self-motivated Hub Opertions
Officers. Quality is a leading bottle-to-bottle recycling company in Uganda, being the
only one that converts waste PET plastic bottles into food-safe (per international
standards) bottles for local use. Quality has set up a state-of-the-art facility in Mukono,
with a monthly capacity of 2000 metric tons of waste bottles converted to bottles. To
manage the feedstock required for this project, Quality is setting up a waste collection
network/system across Uganda, via Collection Hubs.

Key Responsibilities -Hub Operations Officer
1. Staff & HR Management
• Supervise all hub staff (sorters, bailers, loaders, weighbridge operators).
• Monitor daily attendance and update the register.
• Update weekly attendance sheet as per accounts requirement and share with
accounts.
• Allocate duties and manage staff schedules.
• Assist HR with staff evaluations, appraisals, and documentation.
• Handle administrative tasks (e.g., medical forms, filing, payroll inputs).
• Maintain staff discipline, safety, and morale.
2. Operational Oversight
• Ensure all PET scrap bottles received are sorted and baled the same day.
• Supervise sorting by color/grade as per plant requirements.
• Operate and maintain bailing machines in collaboration with supervisors.
• Track daily incoming material from field route purchase agents and scrap
suppliers.
• Report any operational challenges to the Recycle Plant Supervisor.
3. Quality & Compliance
• Verify that material received meets company quality standards.
• Report on material quality per supplier to improve consistency.
• Ensure adherence to all company, statutory, and environmental regulations.
• Uphold the integrity and transparency of all hub operations.
4. Supplier & Route Purchase Coordination
• Coordinate with field agents and scrap suppliers for smooth collection.
• Resolve supplier issues and track supplier-wise volumes and quality.
• Prepare monthly supply reports and maintain supplier account balances.

• Inv Maintain accurate stock records for:
• Total PET bottles received (sorted/unsorted)
• Bailed bottles by color
• Stock at hand and pending sorting
• Monitor weighing scale data and reconcile with dispatch/receipt logs.
• Issue stock requisitions and coordinate with the material / spare’s controller.
• Approve store issuances and ensure proper handling of inventory.
5. Reporting & Documentation: Prepare and submit:
• Daily sorting and bailing report
• Stock inventory report
• Route purchase/supplier report
• Weighbridge reconciliation report
• Supplier payment summary
• Monthly production and operational performance reports
• Generate any required documents for interdepartmental coordination.

6. Financial Support Tasks
• Prepare invoices, GRNs, and payment approvals for timely submission to
accounts.
• Follow up with the accounts team to ensure supplier and staff payments.
• Maintain a record of hub-related operational expenses.
7. Systems Implementation
• Oversee the implementation of data tracking tools (software) developed by
central operational team, including training, monitoring and oversight.
• Understand the hub process manual, suggest changes/updates where
necessary and ensure conformity to key processes via regular process checks.

8. Communication & Coordination
• Maintain open communication with accounts, procurement, and the recycle
plant.
• Ensure all process changes or updates are communicated clearly to staff.
• Act as the hub liaison to the central operations team.

9. Perform any other tasks assigned by management to support operations and growth.
entry & Stock Control
Qualifications:
Essential
• Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics and supply management, Business Administration
or any relevant
• Organized and good problem-solving skills, which requires clear communication
and structured thought process.

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Operations Management, Engineering, Science or a
related field.
• Experience in operational roles, preferably in recycling, manufacturing, or logistics
• Proficiency in MS Excel and reporting tools.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Data-driven with strong attention to detail.
• Good communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet operational deadlines.
• Familiarity with weighbridge operations, material handling, and stock
reconciliation.
