Fountain Palace Hotel & Suites is a newly launched upscale hospitality destination in Kampala. As we establish our brand and operational excellence, we are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager with a strong background in large, reputable hotel chains to build and lead our HR function.
This is a unique opportunity to shape the people, culture, and systems of a growing hotel from the ground up.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the development and implementation of HR policies, systems, and procedures in line with hospitality industry standards
- Drive end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies to attract high-calibre talent
- Ensure compliance with Ugandan labour laws, employment standards, and regulatory requirements
- Establish performance management frameworks, including appraisals, KPls, and staff development plans
- Provide guidance on employee relations, disciplinary processes, and conflict resolution
- Design and oversee training programs to enhance service delivery and operational excellence
- Partner with senior leadership to build a strong, service-oriented organizational culture
- Maintain HR metrics, reporting, and documentation to support decision-making

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline (Master’s degree is an asset
- Minimum of 5-7 years’ progressive HR experience, preferably within internationally recognized or large regional hotel chains
- Strong working knowledge of Ugandan labour laws and HR compliance requirements
- Demonstrated experience setting up or strengthening HR systems in a new or evolving organization
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence and support senior management
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and integrity
