Fountain Palace Hotel & Suites is a newly launched upscale hospitality destination in Kampala. As we establish our brand and operational excellence, we are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager with a strong background in large, reputable hotel chains to build and lead our HR function.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

• Lead the development and implementation of HR policies, systems, and procedures in line with hospitality industry standards
• Drive end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies to attract high-calibre talent
• Ensure compliance with Ugandan labour laws, employment standards, and regulatory requirements
• Establish performance management frameworks, including appraisals, KPls, and staff development plans
• Provide guidance on employee relations, disciplinary processes, and conflict resolution
• Design and oversee training programs to enhance service delivery and operational excellence
• Partner with senior leadership to build a strong, service-oriented organizational culture
• Maintain HR metrics, reporting, and documentation to support decision-making

 

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

 

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline (Master’s degree is an asset
• Minimum of 5-7 years’ progressive HR experience, preferably within internationally recognized or large regional hotel chains
• Strong working knowledge of Ugandan labour laws and HR compliance requirements
• Demonstrated experience setting up or strengthening HR systems in a new or evolving organization
• Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence and support senior management
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• High level of professionalism, discretion, and integrity
