Job Title: Legal Officer
Company: Mandela National Stadium Limited
Location: Kampala, Uganda
Reports To: Managing Director
Job Purpose
Salary Scale : MNSL 4
To provide legal advisory services, ensure regulatory compliance, manage legal risks, and
support the Managing Director in safeguarding the interests of Mandela National Stadium
Limited.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide legal advice to management on corporate, commercial, and administrative matters.
2. Draft, review, and interpret contracts, MoUs, agreements, and legal documents.
3. Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, regulatory frameworks, and governance
standards.
4. Represent the organization in legal proceedings and coordinate with external legal service
providers.
5. Manage legal risks by developing risk mitigation strategies and compliance mechanisms.
6. Support the Managing Director in Board matters, including preparation of legal briefs and
documentation.
7. Maintain an updated database of legal records, contracts, and statutory documents.
8. Provide guidance on disciplinary processes, labour-related matters, and dispute resolution.
9. Monitor changes in laws and regulations affecting the organization and advise accordingly.
Person Specifications
Academic Qualifications
An Honors Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized institution.
A Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre.
Working Experience
Five (5) years working experience (5 High Court Practicing Certificates), three (3) of
which should have been as a Legal officer from a reputable organization.
Knowledgeable in company secretarial work with an added advantage of ICSA
