KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Programme Support • Working in collaboration with and reporting to the Finance Manager: • Support all Compliance and Finance aspects of the programme during inception, implementation and closure in line with British Council and client quality and project management standards and requirements. • Support the monitoring and evaluation process and contribute to lessons learned to improve ongoing design and delivery. • Financial Management • Support timely and accurate payment of vendors, including travel payments and per diems, as required. • Support the team with all budget revisions, quarterly profiling, activity planning and reporting as required. • Relationship and Stakeholder Management • Proactively communicate and liaise with others (inside and outside the British Council) to ensure effective coordination and delivery of events, services and activities, including (but not limited to) the wider team. • Build an understanding of the responsibilities of the different roles within the LIT TRAIN Pillar team, British Council Uganda non-LIT team, regional Finance, British Council procurement and Payments teams to enable effective resolution of issues when they arise. • Managing Self and Others • Plan and prioritise own work activities, responding to changing requirements to ensure effective delivery of responsibilities over a daily/weekly time horizon. • Task and coordinate others (e.g. internal colleagues or external contractors/suppliers) to complete time-limited, straightforward activities, within established procedures, in order to ensure efficient delivery of services. Monitor task completion to agreed quality and time standards.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
• First degree or equivalent in a relevant field • English CEFR Level B2 • Previous proven experience of working to support projects • Proven ability to work to tight deadlines and targets, giving close attention to detail throughout • Desirable: • Experience in supporting payments • Previous work on Education programmes
