Palliative Care Education Scholarship 2026

The Palliative Care Association of Uganda (PCAU) is the National Association for all Palliative Care Providers in Uganda. The Association was formed in 1999 to coordinate private institutions and individuals to work with the government towards full integration of palliative care into the national health system.

Since 2010, PCAU has been offering Palliative Care Education scholarships for different cadres of health and allied health professions to attain Palliative Care Diploma, Degree, and master’s degree. PCAU has offered a total of 182 scholarships over the years.

In 2026 CAU, with support from partners, designated funding for a target number of health workers to undertake the following courses:

1. Advanced Diploma in Palliative Care Nursing
2. Bachelor of Science in Palliative Care

Eligibility:

a) Must be Ugandan.

b) Should have evidence of study leave for those who are in civil service.

c) Must be admitted to a training Institution for study in 2026.

d) Applicants from palliative care underserved districts shall be given priority, these include: (Kamwenge, Rukungiri, Bushenyi, Abim, Kotido, Kaabong, Muyembe, Buvuma, Kalangala, Kasanda, Lyantonde, Nakasongola, Ssembabule, Budaka, Bugweri, Bulambuli, Kaberamaido, Kapelebyong, Kween, Luuka, Namayingo, Namisindwa, Alebtong, Amudat, Dokolo, Karenga, Nakapiripirit, Otuke, Pader, Kamwenge, Kazo, Kyenjojo, Ntoroko, Rubanda, Rukiga, Rwampara, Kyotera, Kinoni, Mityana, Kalangala, Kanungu, Kitagwenda)
