KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Select, edit, and enhance photographs for use in news, features, advertisements, and digital content.
• Work closely with Reporters, Designers and Video Editors to ensure visual content aligns with editorial and brand guidelines.
• Manage a team of Photographers, providing creative direction and ensuring timely submissions.
• Source and acquire images from Freelance Photographers and stock libraries as needed.
• Maintain an organized digital asset management system for efficient retrieval and archiving of images.
• Ensure all images comply with copyright laws and company policies on photo usage and licensing.
• Stay up to date with trends in photography, photojournalism, and digital media editing tools.
• Collaborate with the marketing and social media teams to optimize images for various platforms.
• Retouch and manipulate images while maintaining authenticity and journalistic integrity.
• Assist in coordinating photoshoots and special visual projects when required.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
• Academic: Bachelor’s degree in Photography, Visual Arts, Journalism, or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in photo editing, preferably in a media, publishing, or journalism environment.
• CORE COMPETENCIES
• Experience in video editing or graphic design is a plus
• Familiarity with CMS platforms and social media content management
• Knowledge of AI-powered editing tools and emerging technologies in visual media
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, and other photo editing tools
• Strong understanding of image composition, color correction and retouching techniques
• Experience managing and coordinating photographers and visual content production
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills to meet tight deadlines
• Knowledge of copyright and image licensing laws
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced media environment
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
