e are seeking an ambitious and experienced professional to join our team in the role of Project Engineer. The candidate will take charge of all engineering processes in liaison with the BD team and EPC partners from the project inception stage through implementation, construction and commissioning. The ideal candidate will have a background in electrical/mechanical engineering with hands-on experience in solar and battery systems design, construction and commissioning processes. The candidate will be based anywhere within East Africa, though with preference being given to candidates based in Uganda or willing to relocate to Uganda. The role will report to the Technical Lead.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Solar Plants Engineering Process: • Liaise with EPC’s for proposed project sites visit to collect site data for solar plants engineering. • Review site data and power consumption data for solar plants designs. • Design appropriate solar plant sizes in liaison with EPC’s and generate BoQ for the plants. • Solar Plants Construction Process: • Coordinate project construction kick off meetings with the EPC’s and the client. • Oversee the EPC project construction ensuring strict adherence to set quality standards and timelines. • Solar Plants Commissioning Process: • Ensure projects construction is completed and commissioning done according to set protocols. • Liaise with the EPC, Client and Asset Management team for completeness of project commissioning and handover process for operational phase. • Any other role as assigned by the line manager.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
• Degree or diploma in electrical/mechanical engineering. • At least 4 years of practical experience as a solar projects engineer in the C&I space. • Hands-on experience with various solar and battery equipment technologies. • Project management experience. • Experience with at least two solar energy design tools (PVSyst, Helioscope, PVSol, etc). • Added Advantage: • Additional certifications in renewable energy or related fields. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Willingness to travel in remote site locations in Rwanda and Uganda.
