• Regular health monitoring of wild chimpanzees and other mammals • Necropsies of deceased primates and other wildlife. • Emergency response including snare removal interventions that requires darting • Management of laboratory, including sample collection, storage, and analysis in association with the above duties. • Senior member of the project’s management team responsible for report writing, budget maintenance, and enforcing health and hygiene protocols with staff • Development and management of One Health community outreach programs (i.e., vaccine clinics, spay/neuter clinics, educational talks, etc.) • Work closely with the Uganda Wildlife Authority and other stakeholders in the region

• Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary medicine • Registered with the Veterinary regulatory body in Uganda • Experience working with wildlife • Experience working in field conditions • Proficiency in basic laboratory techniques including sample collection, storage, and analysis • Good physical condition, resilience against stress, and highly motivated and organized • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work independently and also as a team • Good oral and written English • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc.) • Proof of COVID-19 full vaccination and a negative TB test. • Preferred qualifications: • Experience as working as a wildlife veterinarian • Experience working with primates, preferably chimpanzees • Experience with darting animals in the field • Experience performing necropsies, including sample collection and storage • Experience in health monitoring and basic data collection
