C-CARE is hiring a Waitress to provide efficient and courteous meal service to hospital patients, ensuring correct dietary requirements are met in line with medical and nutritional guidelines, while maintaining high standards of hygiene and patient care.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Deliver meals, snacks, and beverages to patients in wards according to prescribed diets.
• Verify patient meal trays against dietary instructions.
• Ensure meals are served at the correct temperature and in a timely manner.
• Assist patients, where necessary, with opening food containers or setting up trays.
• Collect used trays, crockery, and cutlery after meals and return them for cleaning.
• Report any patient feedback, complaints, or issues with meals to the supervisor.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in food trolleys, trays, and serving equipment.
• Follow hospital infection control and food safety standards strictly.
• Support the nutrition team in monitoring food consumption if required.
• Show courtesy, patience, and empathy when interacting with patients.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
• Formal education required for competence in the job
• Ugandan employment opportunities
• Diploma in Catering, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
• Experience
• At least 1 year experience in hotels service.
• Previous experience in healthcare catering or patient meal service is an advantage
• Basic knowledge of nutrition and special diets
• Behavioural Competencies
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to handle patients with care, respect, and confidentiality.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
